We love to have fun with our dogs. We have owned dogs all our lives and each and every one of them are a big part of our family. We enjoy the strong bonds that develop between us and our dogs, based upon love, respect, trust and a routine working relationship. We also enjoy helping other dog owners achieve similar relationships with their dogs.

We train and compete in many different activities and venues. The following sports are just some of the many activities we are involved in.
Agility is a fun and exciting sport where dogs are judged for both time and performance as they negotiate courses comprised of a variety of obstacles including jumps, weaves, contacts and tunnels. Some of the venues we are involved in include the following:
Rally is a relatively new sport where dogs work in a more relaxed atmosphere than obedience competition. Dogs are judged for their performance of a variety of behaviors demonstrated over a sequence of stations. Some of the performances include down, stay, turn, heel, sit, and serpentine. Some of the venues we are involved in include the following:
Obedience is a more structured environment where dogs demonstrate good behavior in the home, public places, and in the presence of other dogs. There are many Rally behavior similarities, but the performance requirements are tighter. Some of the obedience behaviors include heel, stand for examination, long sit, and recall. We currently train and compete for American Kennel Club, AKC obedience.
Dock Diving is a relatively new sport. Dogs are judged by the distance of their jumps from the dock and entry into the water. Though the dog’s physical abilities plays the largest role in this sport, teamwork is required in order to achieve the best jumps. We currently train and compete for Dock Dogs.
Clicker training is not a sport, but deserves to be in a category all its own. The clicker training concept changes how we communicate with our dogs. Instead of always correcting the bad behaviors, owners have turned their focus on rewarding the good behaviors. Attitudes about dog training become positive based and dogs become eager and motivated participants in the training process. There is still much to learn about results achieved from applying this exciting new paradigm. We participate in Karen Pryor Clicker Training events, including the Clicker Exposition.
Essentially, if it involves our dogs we generally enjoy doing it, even if it is just a simple game of fetch.
If you would like more information regarding the classes taught at Dogs Gone Wild, please review our services page (coming soon) for additional details. Interested students may contact us for specific class date, time, and cost.

We understand that many of our students hold daytime jobs. Therefore, most of our activities occur outside of typical business hours. Below is a brief summary of when to expect our personal session, group session, seminar, and competition events to occur.
We work with dogs and people simply because we enjoy it. It gives us a huge thrill to help others get the same enjoyment out of working with their dogs as we do. We also love to work with dogs. Collectively, we have been working with dogs for many years. For example, our combined experience in the sport of agility alone comprises nearly twenty years! The field of dog training is growing with exciting new training methodologies being introduced all the time. We will always be involved with training dogs because it is not just our hobby, but our passion. Some other motivators for being involved with dog sports include the following;
Training with Dogs Gone Wild requires lots of dog cookies, praise and willingness to just have fun with your dog. We train dogs using primarily positive reinforcement. Clicker Training is a perfect example of a positive reinforcement training paradigm and plays a large part in our training curriculum.
Personalized training sessions are delivered either indoors or outdoors in a one-on-one environment. Personalized training sessions are customized to focus on the behaviors that are most important to you. Group training sessions are delivered indoors or outdoors. Typically the sessions will have two instructors. The class sizes are small to ensure that every student gets the instruction they need. The sessions consist of curriculum-based lessons from beginners to advanced levels of training. Seminars may be delivered onsite or offsite. Generally one to two instructors will present the material. Seminars are available all year-round. Competition events are held onsite. Typically they are offered one to two weekend days. Competition events are only available in our outdoor arenas.
Dogs Gone Wild is situated on an incredible 120+ acre property with beautiful panoramic views of the Endless Mountains Region. We have plenty of space for you and canine companion to stretch your legs and enjoy yourselves. There are approximately 20 acres of open fields available for outdoor training and competition arenas.
If you’d like to get away from the stress of training and competition, we have approximately two miles of well-maintained hiking trails through 100+ wooded acres. Your dog can run, sniff and relax.
Train protected from the elements in our indoor training arena, which includes a lighted 2,400 square foot pole barn enclosed with aluminum siding.
Onsite drinkable water and restrooms are also available for your convenience.
